This is Freddie Boy, the A number ONE member of the herd. He thinks
he's got better digs! Fred is an 18 year old
Bichon Frise
that has extraordinary fortitude.........it must be all that napping!

Halliburton Boopsie (AKA Wanda Mae) thinks there might be something she
wants off the tree limbs being cleared from this woodsy path left by
Hurricane Rita.. |

Halliburton Adios (AKA Lisa), April of 2006, at about 5 years old, fully matured,
and she's never had a bull calf that wasn't hands down the best of
the bunch. Below is El Presidente in Feb. 2007, and Elvis in
May 2005, both herd sires here at the ranch.
Click
this link for youtube videos of both of these herd bulls all
grown up in 2009.

Halliburton Alouise (AKA Taylor), a double Popeye daughter, in August of
'06.. Her Fall
'05 Bounder sired heifer, J.West's Jilly, pictured
below. See Taylor too, sired by High Noon, below far left.
And just below in the next section are her two last calves, both
very nice bulls.
See J. West's Taylor Too, another daughter of Halliburton Allouise,
sired by Halliburton High Noon, pictured in the first column to the
left. |
This is J.West's Taylor Too, all grown up,
and what a well made cow she is. Her El Presidente daughter,
J.West's Taylor Maid, born Oct. 2008, is pictured below in Nov.
2008, an outstanding, thick little girl. |

JWest's Jane Eyre, American Fullblood, DOB 3-04, Dam TX Alta, Sire
Huck Finn. Pictured above as a young heifer and then as a mature
cow in May '08. She captures your eye, a very sweet face and good
confirmation. See her March 2006 bull calf
below. |
Pictured first is Halliburton Allouise's
Mazarati bull calf born Oct. 07, J.West's S.S. Carter, and then her El Presidente bull
calf born Sept. 2008,J.West's Eastwood, both are best of breed boys..............

Late September 2005, the cows appreciated the Hurricane tearing down
the limbs of this pecan tree. A taste test of pecan, red oak,
and hickory left pecan leaves winning hands down.
Pictured below, a group of happy cows in April of 2008 . . . wish we
had grass like that all the time!

|
J.West's Wanda Mae,
Dam Halliburton Boopsie (AKA Wanda Mae), sire
Halliburton High Noon, pictured in August '06, and proving to be just
as gentle as her Dam.
This
is J.West's Wanda Mae, pictured in Oct.
2008, a month away from calving, a very easy-keeping girl, that makes a Feed Efficiency
statement all her own!
 |
J.West's Colleen, in April 2008, at her
feet is the little bull calf, tag #39, that Colleen adopted within 2
days of losing her first calf. She remained his 'other' Mom
until he was weaned this fall, testament to the strong maternal
instincts that come through her maternal line, her Granddam being
CRae215G, one of my original cows.

A group of bulls grazing in the spring of 2008 in the back pasture. |

Fall 2005 heifer, J.West's Nell Opal. Dam is Halliburton Konnie, sire is J.West's
King Cole. Very pretty girl and pictured below all grown up in May
2008.
And her first calf, a real pretty heifer, sired by Mazarati and a
welcome addition to the herd. |
In Nov. 2008, J.West's Eastwood, out of
Halliburton Allouise, tag #7, and J.West's Prime Dude, tag #23, out
of Halliburton Arlene, definitely a pair of handsome bulls....might
just be candidates for your breeding program!
 |
This is J.West's Ms Rae in October 2008.
Her dam is CRae215G and sire is DFTX Watson. MsRae has matured
into an outstanding female. Pictured below is her Fall 2008
heifer, J.West's Raelly Ann, sired by El Presidente.
  |
JWest's Blue Boy, American Fullblood, Dam JWest's Emily, Sire
Huckleberry Finn. Blue Boy matured into a very handsome bull,
pictured to the left in May of 2007. He went to his new home
in Louisiana in October of 2007.

Some calves just seem to draw me take more and more pictures of
them, this season it's this Eastwood bull calf. This photo was
taken 11-30-08, you can see how much he's grown this past few weeks
by comparing him to the Oct. '08. picture above this one. |
This is J.West's McQueenie, American Fullblood, from my Bountiful
line of females. This is McQueenie's first calf, J.West's
Fairy Delight, sired by Mazarati --and was a full term calf!
This tiny heifer had a birth weight of 31 lbs, per the scales.
She remains a very small framed girl, impeccable markings, a deep
front, just in a quite small package. Her dam is also a small
framed cow, weighing about 800 lbs when she calved Fairy in Nov.
2007. McQueenie had a taped birth weight of 60 lbs, but I
suspect she had an actual weight 10% or more less than that.

Pictured here is Halliburton High Noon at about 9 months of age, and
still at the side of his awesome dam, CRae 11. These two are
one of the first cow/calf pairs I purchased when I began raising
British Whites. And High Noon's legacy here, through his son,
El Presidente, and the daughters I have, is one of easy muscling and
fattening and great carcass traits, easy-going disposition and great
British White markings. *****Below is High Noon at about 3 years of
age in 2005, shortly before sale as a herd sire. He continues
to be a working bull putting great calves on the ground.
 |
J.West's Big Mac, Dam - HRH Bountiful, Sire-J.West's Elvis, DOB
7-29-06, BW 78lbs. Big Mac is pictured here as he progressed
in age. I find it interesting to watch the changes from
calfhood on through the stages to maturity -- and thought you might
as well. First two pictures are shortly after he was born.
The third shot is in Feb. '07, the fourth in May '08, and the fifth
in Nov. '08.
