HRH Bountiful in the Summer of 2006 about 7 months bred. She's a
strikingly beautiful cow and seems somehow to glow with
motherhood more than my other girls . . .

This is J.West's Big Mac, born July 2006, an outstanding HRH
Bountiful son sired by J.West's Elvis, pictured in May 2008. |

Fall '06 heifer calf from Wanda Mae and J.West's Elvis,
pictured in March of 07above, and named JWest's Vincenzia.....she's an excellent young heifer.
Vinnie suffered a severe leg injury in August of 2007 and it was a
solid year before she was healed. She's pictured below in
October 2008. Were it not for her excellent disposition, we
likely would not have seen her fully healed, she let you treat her
in an open pen for a very long time. |
Little cow I call Wanda Mae (Halliburton Boopsie) in the Summer of
2006, about 5 months bred and a hefty bull calf recently weaned. The most placid cow in my herd - a Popeye daughter.

Calving Slideshow
Pictured below is Wanda Mae's fall born El Presidente sired bull
calf in Nov.'08, J.West's Sandy Andy, and he is a working herd sire
in West Texas. |
| Pictured below is J.West's Tom Sawyer,
grandson of HRH Bountiful and the English bull Woodbastwick Randolph
Turpin, and sired by De Beauvoir's Huckleberry Finn.....and perhaps
one of the best Huck Finn sons in the breed.

J.West's Bountiful Brigit, dam HRH Bountiful, Sire is Turpin.
She is what I'd like my whole herd to look like and act like. An
excellent girl and she's become an outstanding mother, including dam to
Tom Sawyer above.

J.West's Wanda Mae,
Dam Halliburton Boopsie, sire Halliburton High Noon, pictured in Oct.
2008, a month away from calving, a very easy-keeping girl, that makes a Feed Efficiency
statement all her own!

Below is Halliburton Boopsie with her newly born bull calf, sired by
J.West's Tom Sawyer. This little guy was named J.West's Zeus
and is a working herd sire here in Texas.

This is J.West's Blossum raising her own Carter sired bull calf in
November 2011, along with having adopted a young heifer calf out of
GR Edna who was orphaned a few months prior. GR Edna was my
oldest cow and sadly she died. Blossum is doing a remarkable
job raising both calves. Particularly when you consider the
drought of 2011.

J.West's Blossum, Spring 07, a really
pretty El Presidente sired heifer calf out of a Woodbastwick
Randolph Turpin sired dam.

Below is J.West's Blossum in the Summer of 2010.

GR Edna (AKA Elsie) in November 2004, Spring bred.
Below is Edna's Spring 07 Heifer Calf, J.West's Elsie Eve, sired by J.West's El
Presidente, and next is her Spring 04 heifer, J.West's Elsie
Edna, sired by Huck Finn.

A group shot of some bred cows and heifers on December 1st, 2012.
Shortly after I took this I spotted several young calves on the
wrong side of that fence line behind them. Fortunately, they
are British White calves and they frolicked their way back through
the fence with a fair amount of ease!

A particularly beautiful photo from the summer of 2011. See the
faint rainbow in the sky? |

J.West's King Cole as a youngster. Dam HRH Arlene, sire
Halliburton Colonel. Pictured below in the spring of 2006. |
Fall born '08 heifer calf, nicely
made girl, with a very curious nature, her name is Winnifred, and
she's a double Elvis daughter.
 |

Halliburton Adios in May 2005, just two weeks following weaning of a
593 lb bull calf, J .West's El Presidente, now a primary herd sire
here at the ranch. Quite an amazing little Popeye sired cow. |
 JWest's Madonna
about 7 months bred in the Summer of 06. Her dam, Halliburton Kaywood 61K, Sire DFTX
"Doc" Watson, an
excellent female. Two of her daughters are retained in the herd:
J.West's Hot Pepper and J.West's Bluebell. About 7 months bred in the
Summer of '06.

Do you have this problem? Some of my heifers just
can't help themselves, they just have to get IN the hay ring to eat!
This pic was taken November 2011. |

J.West's Lillie Bell, daughter of Bluebell, and grandaughter of
Madonna -- with her first calf at foot, a J.West's S.S. Carter sired
heifer who was entirely too fond of peering through the fence on the
highway of the front pasture. Picture taken November 2011. |
